ROAD & TRACK BIKES
Gosford and the Central Coast have some great roads and tracks for racing bikes, where you can pump and power your bicycle at top speed towards the finishing line. At The Edge Cycles, we fit each bike to each rider, to ensure that you get the most out of each pedal.
The Edge Cycles also supports two local riders: Cassandra Kell and Brad Scarfe, both of whom have competed and placed well in races both locally and nationally. As soon as we can slow them down enough, we'll get them to fill in rider profiles so you can find out more about these local riders.
For serious competitors, Central Coast Cycling Club have races in all of the major cycling disciplines: road, criterium, time-trials and track. Road races and training occur all over the coast:
- Shelly Beach, Kincumber, Peats Ridge and Mount White are all regular meeting places and starting points.
- Criterium races for juniors are held at the Ourimbah Campus of the University of Newcastle, and seniors race around a 1.75km track in the North Wyong Industrial Area.
- Adcock Park just off the Pacific Highway at West Gosford boasts a banked track velodrome for striving towards those Olympic dreams.
The Central Coast also has the Mingara Triathlon Club which is perfect for those super-fit people who want to include running and swimming as part of their racing.
For social riding, the Central Coast boasts excellent roads and tracks including the Brisbane Water loop and the Tuggerah Lakes area of Wyong Shire. Both flat roads and gruelling hills are ridable for all levels of cyclists.
