Velo WarriorsThe Velo Warrior ride starts from Brooklyn Station on the scenic Hawkesbury River. Here you can start your ride with a coffee or purchase some local seafood. Along the wayEnjoy the sandstone cliffs of the Pacific Highway and meander up the hill to Mt White and onto Mt Penang Parklands where there are markets (on the third Sunday of the month). Turning right onto Woy Woy Rd you experience the sounds of the Australian bush as you descend through the Brisbane Water National Park. Continuing, you enter the peninsula of Woy Woy famous for oysters and pelicans. Ocean Beach Road leads you to Umina and Ettalong Beach. This holiday hamlet offers crystal clean beaches and many cafes and restaurants. At Ettalong ferry wharf, load your bike onto the ferry. Enjoy a well earned rest while you sit back and soak up the picturesque Broken Bay with your trip to Palm Beach and the northern beaches of Sydney. The road is narrow in places with no road shoulders, stay as far left as possible. This section carries fast moving traffic especially on weekends. 2. Descend Woy Woy Road with care, due to the many winding sections. Stay as far left as possible. 3. Watch for cars exiting driveways along streets of Woy Woy and Ettalong Beach. 4. Ensure that your bike is taken to the rear of the ferry. |
